What headphones you rocking for mixing? Been working with sennheiser 650s for a few months and mostly digging them.

I need some better headphones. For sure. I forget which ones I got but they are specifically balanced for music mixing, but they are really tight and cut in on my face. But my speakers are great.

I used to swear by mixing in monitors. I much prefer mixing in headphones now. Mixing with monitors in a treated room is "ideal," but not practical for everone; especially if you live close to neighbords or if you travel a lot and have strict deadlines.

Well this post has caused quite a divide 🤣 I think it should be clear that using both is the ideal combination. I personally found switching over to headphones has helped me alot so wanted to share that with the world. But if you are achieving great mixes on monitors in an untreated room then keep it up! As long as the end goal is achieved it doesn’t matter how you get there 😊

Mix on headphones preferably with binaural compensation, or no matter how good your headphones are, your stereo image and frequency response is gonna be wack for any other systems.
