Idk who needs to hear this or who could relate but…just because you grew up ghetto does not mean you have to assign that to your personality as an adult. I remember the day that it clicked for me that I didn’t have to speak this way, or act this way even tho this is how I was raised and how I’ve been for so many years. I didn’t realize that it was actually a way for me to disarm people so that they’d be more comfortable around me. It was my way of shrinking myself, a way to hide my intelligence.
