I really want to get the best cat food for my 3 adult cats. But tell me, how can anyone on a fixed income afford Hills Science Diet cat kibble at $5.00 a pound? $69.00 for a 13 pound bag with tax. Crazy.

18 小時內	Brad Aden brad.aden	I would not consider Science Diet a high quality food, but totally get your point. Check with your local rescues to see if anyone has a pet food pantry as well. I far prefer wet to dry as well.
18 小時內	Niki Winters ikin72	I switched my guys to that because one of them was having allergy issues (not, it turns out, to his food) so we’re back to Iams Proactive and everybody is happier. (Except for Bruno, who has to get meds every day now, but now he gets post-meds chicken or cheese.)

If you have a certain number of things in the subscription (like litter, litter bags, cleaning supplies) you get a percentage discount. I know it's not huge but it's something. But also, cats don't eat a huge quantity each day, so those bags last a long time for me.

Dry food is high in carbohydrates and can cause health problems, specifically urinary issues in male cats that can be deadly. The saying goes “the worst wet food is better than the “best” dry food”. Cats are obligate carnivores which mean they need a high protein diet and little carbs. It is possible to feed wet food on a budget. A lot of people with multiple cats tend to feed raw as it can be cost effective.
