FWIW, I'm selling my PS5 and buying a PS5 Pro. Is it expensive? YUP Is the disc drive an add-on? YUP (I'm all digital at this point though) Is it more expensive than PC gaming? NOPE The first few years of last-gen games running at 60fps on consoles has completely ruined 30fps games for me, and many of the Performance modes in newer games mangle the image quality to hit 60fps, and often inconsistently. MOST people aren't going to buy it, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't exist.
