To stop the algo from filing this as Tolkein account (I have an extreme lifelong fondness but absolutely no head or energy for lore), the other book I’ve got on the go is A Sorceress Comes to Call by T. Kingfisher and it is ~excellent so far. T. Kingfisher is already an autobuy for me, but this has the potential to be my favourite yet. Fairytale fantasy with notes of horror.
