.On September 10, 1989, Alain Prost secured his fourth and final win of the season at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza after his McLaren teammate, pole-sitter Ayrton Senna, suffered an engine failure with nine laps remaining. Gerhard Berger (pictured) finished second in front of the Tifosi, while Thierry Boutsen took third for Williams.
McLaren-Honda clinched the Constructors’ Championship with four races to spare.
