I am a state pensioner and a WASPI woman with a minor health issue, but I have made provision for my retirement over and above my public sector pension (I worked in a primary school). For the past two winters I have received a winter fuel payment despite still working part-time and it made me feel so uncomfortable I gave it to charity! If those thousands like me on a modest pension or better don't need the payment, there has to be a better way to direct the money to those who do really need it.
