hey, parents of seniors, You might think your kid is a bit quirky, but maybe you should seriously consider accommodations before they get to college and have a complete neurodivergent meltdown. According to one of first-years, “I’m not as independent as my parents think they raised me to be.” I’m learning a lot in real time about just how many folks sent their students to college, thinking that their high school did a good job because bby got good grades.

Some students don’t know how to read a syllabus, some don’t know how to look up sources on the internet, some don’t know how to use a comma, and most haven’t the slightest clue how to manage their time. A lot of your students don’t read, either. Not even when they have to & some are sleeping right thru class.

It turns out that with no one making me go to class, I didn't have the tools to make myself go. I got there, eventually. But man, that's literally thousands of dollars wasted on tuition for nothing.
