On my dad’s side, there is a recipe for a candy called “date loaf.” It really time consuming and you roll it up in a clean pillow case. I’ve never made it, but a few of my cousins have attempted to.

Mom had to adjust Great Gramma's recipes. Apparently they contained back then common ingredients that are now not so much. I remember specifically that eggs were an issue. GG learned to cook with eggs from the coop out back. Apparently today's "large eggs" aren't even close to what she would have considered a large egg.

I have the best story, in 1998 I was a sophomore in college and had only been in the states for 2 years. My college roommate asked me to go to her hometown for a weekend in a little town about 1.5 hours away from our school. We went to visit her grandma and she had made cookies. I remember sitting down at grandmas kitchen table that was covered with the vinyl flowery table cloth. We are eating cookies and my friend kept talking about the recipe, it’s a family passed on recipe and ⬇️⬇️
