Do we have a "definition" of deepfake yet? Like a legal one? I thought we did, but maybe it's only against pornographic images...? @thebrianpenny ⬇️🤔

No legal definition really. The term itself actually came from Reddit when the Faceswap app launched in 2017 allowing you to switch people’s faces in a video. The laws use a ton of verbiage like synthetic media, deepfakes, and artificial intelligence, which will ultimately create problems down the line. For a similar concept, Arizona legalized marijuana but had an older law that prohibited cannabis, and prosecutor Sheila Polk spent years prosecuting people by twisting the legal definition.
