I got a dating question. Is it a fatal red flag if someone you're interested in tells you they lost custody of their child?

I'd listen to the situation first, context matters. I know some folks who lost custody of their kids because of money issues or mental health issues they're in the process of managing. But I also know a lot of people who paint a picture of tragedy when they either were actively not a great parent or aren't trying very hard to be present with their kids. It's definitely an orange flag until we talk more about it.

I'm not goingto lie to you. It depends on what state they are / their case was from. It's getting better but back in the day like there were certain states that…I know this because my mom fucking did this. In order to get the most out of her divorce and and strip custody away from my dad almost entirely, (unfairly) she bebopped between 3 different states and then picked the one with the most severe divorce consequences.

Could be a number of things, I’d go all investigative reporter before I cut ties or got more involved.

I will answer your question after you tell me the cause of the court action.
