Except that it can be less expensive to homeschool as there are so many free resources.. so it isn't just people who have more money are bailing --and then the question is why people have left? Some of us have kids with mental health struggles or learning issues. If our kids are being bullied for instance, should we continue to keep them in a place that harms them "for the greater good" of systemic change that won't happen before their time in school is up? Or should we prioritize our own kids?
