23 years on… I never really considered how dated the World Trade Centre appeared. It had no character, no truly distinct markings or creative architectural features… It was tall, obnoxiously boring from a visual perspective. I now see why it was such a high value target: WTC was the perfect analogy for America’s overwhelming homogeneity. May the souls of those who died that day — and the millions afterward — have some semblance of peace.
