Why, in the Year of Our Lord 2024, would you write an article in English in a major journal and NOT TRANSLATE THE QUOTES? I want to set this for students. And now I can't.

If you're worried about losing nuance, include the fulltext of the quoted passage in the original language in the footnote (and prove what a crappy translator you - or your IA - are, perhaps!).
