Today is the 23rd anniversary of the Sept 11 attacks. I was a sophomore in high school, just getting into school at around 7am. That’s when we first heard rumblings of something happening on the “mainland” (I’m from Hawaii). 20 minutes later we were glued to the tv. My cousin was a United flight attendant at the time so there was panic (she was fine). Two months later, our marching band made a trip to Washington DC and New York City. We were there for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. 1/3
