I have been finding it really difficult to reconcile with everyone’s somber posts this year about “the worst day ever” when genocide is actively happening around the world… Gaza… Sudan… Congo… I dont want to minimize the days tragedy, the importance of remembering, i remember it very well, all the drastic changes that followed, how life altered in the dmv. BUT tens of tens of thousands are being killed…. Our american exceptionalism shines so bright on a day like today.
