I used to work with babies. Still had hair at the time. Thought it would be more of an issue but wasn’t. I loved working with newborns, they have a higher chance of living than adults needing extra care.

Husband went to get double knee repairs to fix damaged tendons. The surgery went uneventfully. I drove him home and asked him how the surgeon was. Hubby says… “Don’t know. Vietnamese chap. Short. Wore riding boots with heels to reach up to the operating table!!” Quarter of a century later today, hubby’s knees are perfectly fine and serve him well. Great doctors come in all shapes and sizes and obviously all have extraordinary skills! We feel silly today over how we judged on looks alone!!😁

I have a beautiful young lady General practitioner. She doesn’t look old enough to be a doctor, but she’s one of the best I’ve ever had (I’m nearly 60), even my husband thinks she’s awesome. Imagine if I’d prejudged on that she looks so young…

I'd like my doctor actually know what they're doing rather than just look like it... Give me Dr. Surfer-Dude, he has confidence.

The first time I saw my PCP, he came in the room wearing a wrinkled Hawaiian shirt & pajama pants. He has long hair & a beard - so he looked like maybe he was an escaped patient 😂 He walked in, said “oh no” & walked out. Then he came back with his white coat & badge on… “hey- lo. Hey. Hello. Hi. Sorry forgot my little jacket & it’s laundry day.” *gestures to cloothes* Best doctor I’ve seen in years!

I'm a podiatrist, i'm 28 but look younger, my hair in currently purple but change every month or so, i have piercings and tattoos. So many patients look kinda worried at first, but it always goes well :) It takes a weirdo to go to medical school, most of us just try to look socialy acceptable.

“You seem to have missed the point.” No, we got it. You’re judgmental of people’s looks. Some things are better kept to yourself. Also, the nerdy looking HCW aren’t always the best. Trust me.
