Saudi Arabia has officially re-established its embassy in the Syrian capital, Damascus, signifying a major milestone in last year’s rapprochement between the two nations after 12 years of diplomatic estrangement.
At a reception held on Monday at the Four Seasons Hotel in Damascus, Saudi Chargé d’Affaires, Abdullah Al-Harith, remarked that the reopening of the Kingdom’s diplomatic mission in Syria “marks a pivotal moment in the annals of relations between our two brotherly nations.”
