My favorite part of traveling is broken language conversations with locals. Having lunch in Biarritz, this guy in the Canada hat says to us “I love your accents.” Not something you’re used to as a New Yorker… Turns out, they’re all local to Biarritz, and just very friendly. Thru awful French/English, we chat! Before we leave, he buys a bottle of Veuve and insists on pouring us two glasses.
