Rather than move away from this formation, I think that Austin FC under Rodelfo Borrell will likely recruit hard to find players who fit these roles better. This formation can reduce Driussi's effectiveness, and, in a league with a salary cap, it's a legitimate point that building a system around a best-11 type player is more important. But I think that's only true if we really can't find the right pieces for each role.
