I’ve been asked why I decided to create these stone/wood/resin pieces. For one thing, I’ve been a tile/stone installer for near 30 years and wanted to create art that used stone. I came up with the idea of stone paintings and so had to learn how to make the frames. I’ve never worked with wood before so this was a challenge. I was also asked why I curved the wood. Simple. I don’t like making normal things. And the curved wood and route red edges make it look old fashioned.
