The truth is this: most objective, reasonable fans have long come to the conclusion that Fitz was no longer the man nor the coach that this program needed in this new era of college football. His condescending tone toward fans and press was getting worse by the year, his outdated, unattractive brand of football/coaching was showing itself to be unwatchable, and lastly, clearly now, his supposed values as a leader of men turned out to be a poisonous sham.
