I actually think networking is BS. Get so good that people can't ignore you, that's how you network. Networking without anything to show for is a waste of everyone's time.

This is def not true in my industry. Being good is important but knowing the right people via networking isn’t cheating. It’s getting familiar with people so they understand that you’re a good cultural fit.

Ah no. How you get “good” is by being around people that have the connections, knowledge & skills you lack. I am where I am partly because I networked like hell, listened & observed others, earned trust of important people, and iterated on that formula. There is different paths to becoming great, so networking may not be your path, but it is a successful path for many people.
