Just went there the other day with my older kids. Even when they have cleared off the shells, there are still a ton of sharp broken ones everywhere from whatever machine they use to clear them. I said to my kids “I remember you running from the boardwalk into the water. I hope you do, too, because it doesn’t look like you can do that anymore without a thousand micro cuts.” I guess the bay-like quality of Grand Beach makes the shells get stuck there. :-(
