The choice to practice Non Coercive Collaborative Parenting is a big one. It is a profound mindset shift from the traditional way of relating to kids. It is not authoritative nor hierarchical. This is very unfamiliar and causes a lot of discomfort. However if we are able to sit with the discomfort, this new relationship fosters a kind of connection that is quite amazing. And also unavailable in a hierarchical authoritative relationship.
