I've been a big fan of @yallitics, but the recent interview with Dan Patrick was infuriating and irresponsible. Referring to Ken Paxton's impeachment, Patrick kept saying "beyond a reasonable doubt" as if that's the standard for impeachment. But public service is just that, service. And the question isn't reasonable doubt, but public trust. This idea the Republicans push of "beyond reasonable doubt" is a dangerous, self-serving and completely untrue framimg.

It's like when Republicans would always say "the American people" elected Trump and everyone let it stand. The American people elected Hillary Clinton. The electoral college elected Trump. In both cases, allowing Republicans to set the framing is dangerous for the country, warps reality, and a clear abdication of responsibility of journalists. If that's the price of access, then access isn't worth it.
