I was born there, grew up there and never used it or heard it. Mum, mummy were the words we used.

NO WE DON'T WE USE A U!!! I will not take this slander! The o has become more common but that's because of Americanisation not because we're from the midlands, and even then mum is considerably more popular because mummy is just really really childish and it's jarring when a child is 8+ and still saying mummy it's more of a toddler/baby word and we don't like older children to use it
