80s had 50s nostalgia We're still going through 80s nostalgia, even though the gap is wider. 80s movies and artists still loom large over pop culture. Metallica, U2, Madonna, Springsteen, etc., can still fill stadiums and demand premium tickets. Could any act from the 50s do that in the 80s? Maybe Elvis, had he lived? Frank Sinatra certainly wasn't selling out arenas.
