Ask my child if they are hungry then allow the snack. Graciously say thank you. It’s about balance and not creating food complexes over “good vs bad” foods. We keep a dye free pantry at home but are aware in the wild it will happen.

Depends if my kids have had their treat for the day or not. If they have, I say “thank you but they’ve had enough treats today”. Usually the person offering won’t let me decline so I put it in my bag for another day. Otherwise, they can go for gold if they want.

I need more context. Lol we don't use "healthy/unhealthy" when talking about food. So I need to know what the snack is. But the answer will always be yes, he can have it. I just may limit the quantity.
