So I’m hosting my brother, his partner, and their 18 month old daughter for five days. I’ve never had a kiddo stay for longer than a night or two in my place. Parents: what would you love for a host to have on hand to make traveling with a baby/toddler easier? I’m thinking a pack and play? But what else?

一小時內	Jocelynn Sullivan scornedlemon_	Honestly the gear I would say isn't as important as the house being semi baby proofed. All breakable things moved out of baby reach. A gate or two. If you have pets a place for food and water that is not reachable. No big obvious cords. Things like that. Maybe a toy or two because traveling with toys is annoying
2 小時內	AY anda.plus	Honestly, it's more about what you don't have. Grab a bin and put all the stuff that's under your kitchen and bathroom sinks in there and tuck it away somewhere. This is an age where they still put stuff in mouth, touch everything, drink out of all open containers, and climb fearlessly. It would reduce stress for all of you if you scanned your place for things that might be dangerous 🤍
2 小時內	B Rice br_1momentintime	I second the baby proofing….have one room where the adults can sit and let the baby move around freely …so think about adding a gate so baby can’t get out of that space, comfortable seating for adults, and remove anything the baby could break or you don’t want them touching. 18 months is an active age so having a safe space for them will be so helpful Also maybe one of those highchair booster seats to put on an adult chair

3 小時內	Emma Kate emmakatebooks	Find out if your niece is used to sleeping with a nightlight and, if so, make sure there’s one in the room she’s sleeping in. My son is scared to sleep in a pitch black room.

The host has a pack n play for sleep, a clip on high chair or booster seat, a baby monitor so we don’t have to travel with ours; gates in doors if necessary, and has “baby proofed” so I don’t have to run after my kid being like “nope! Don’t touch! Look out!”

4 小時內	Kate Ervin kat.ervin	My favorite part of my house and what wish I could bring everywhere is one completely baby proofed room, enclosed in gates. This is a “yes space” where I can set baby down and never have to say “no, don’t touch/climb/lick/whatever that”
