I bought flea collars for my 3 cats and they aren't working...they hate baths, they will literally claw me up, down, and sideways, and I can't afford to take them to them vet right now. What can I do to get them relief?!

Will never understand why people get pets when the can’t afford to care for them. Figure it out and take your animals to the vet.

Use Revolution or Nexguard. The OTC stuff isn’t as effective as the two flea meds above. Use the type that is liquid applied to the back of their necks. It will take three full months/three cycles each to fully get rid of them though which is a bit costly. You also have to throroughly clean all fabric and carpet repeatedly (every few days). Like a thorough vaccum and washing bedding, etc until the initial infestation passes if you can’t afford to flea bomb the house.

Look into vectra. It’s a topical solution that’s vet quality. You can purchase on chewy. We sold it at the humane society I worked at and I’ve used it on my own pets with great success. You will have to give 3 months worth per cat to accommodate the fleas lifecycle but each dose is 1 month so you can space out purchasing doses

you have to use Revolution. this requires a prescription in the US but you can buy it from Canada online. keep up with it monthly, while vaccuuming daily and using flea cleaning products in your home. Revolution is almost the only thing that will work- over the counter products do not.

Advantage II available at pet stores/feed stores Also you can get Revolution from your vet. Both work great. Get someone who knows what they’re doing to apply it.

If you have carpet, mix salt & baking soda together & spread it all over your carpet. Let it sit for a couple of hours, & then vacuum it up. This will dehydrate any nests or eggs that are in the carpet, as well as actual fleas too. My bf & I have two kittens that were my ex bsf & i think they got infested at her apartment without knowing. When we got them, they infested our apartment & we spent an entire month deep cleaning the carpets every single day.

Collars don’t really work that well in high flea areas, from my experience. You’ll want to get Capstar and a topical flea and tick like AdvantageMulti. Probably will want to grab a spray for your carpets/furniture and vacuum really well and wash allllll bedding. Make sure you vacuum everyday for about a week or two. Just what I do when I bring fleas home from work to my 6 kitties.

Flea collars are awful for your pets!! Please look it up! I use this, it’s AMAZING! I purchase it from bestvetcare.com or chewy.com It truly works wonders so fast. I use Nexguard for my dogs fleas! Btw for anyone seeing this, bestvetcare.com ALWAYS has a sale!!! It’s an awesome site.
