It doesn’t matter! It really depends on your proportions, but I’d say most gym goers with proper form will have some degree of knee flexion. Knees over toes = more quad engagement.

Short answer: knees should go towards or sometimes past your toes. Reasoning: 1 study by Dr. Klein was performed in 1959 on this concept and he was highly biased.
