I’ve lived in Chicago for 6 years. The secret is that Chicago food in general is mediocre. The number of bad or mediocre restaurants dramatically outnumbers the number of good or great resturaunts.

The tea is, most of you qualify a city’s food by its best restaurants, and not the overall food scene. Of course Chicago has some fabulous food. Every city does. If I randomly pick 10 restaurants I’ve never been to around the city, not based on reviews or notoriety, at least 5 need to be great. Not good. *Great* I can do this in Nashville. MEMPHIS OMG. Austin. Miami is so underrated. Fucking LA are you kidding me? Good food everywhere.
