I have ADHD and I recently adopted two kittens. Going into it I had the same concern, so you’re not alone 💕 for me it’s been a pretty smooth transition 🙌 while I’m not always cognizant of my needs, I feel in tune to their’s. Overall, my ADHD doesn’t impact them in a negative way except for that they have to tolerate me making up songs for them 24/7 😂 Whatever skills you use elsewhere in your life to manage your ADHD will help you with a pet too, so don’t forget you’re not starting at square one!

I have ADHD & have adopted/rescued 3 adult dogs who live with me. To be honest, they have helped me immensely because dogs need a structure & for us having a system helps immensely. I get dopamine boosts from my dog as opposed to getting it from cheap sources. It is a big commitment but the love makes you feel so full. I have bad PMDD symptoms hence it helped me a lot.
