I'm a Sociolinguistic Anthropologist who did extensive research on how Women Gather Food while Men Hunt. I've often followed Men in Grocery Stores to watch Men Hunt. Grocery Stores are designed Women to Gather food quickly. Men don't know how to Hunt in Grocery Stores. I've watched Men stand for longer

It's crazy... These days many grocery stores have websites where you put in the store you use most often and it has all products listed on which aisle they're on. You can even make a list!

And park their cart in the middle of the isle and wander off.

Yes. You hit the nail on the head. I hate to generalize but men seem to have a difficult time in the grocery store. They tend to be slower than women and I find myself waiting on them to move on. And when they have a list...🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

The idea that men were the sole hunters and women were the sole gatherers is a myth that has been disproven by recent research. It is more likely that women do most of the shopping and so men are just unfamiliar with grocery stores and therefore not as efficient.

Men were not the better hunters, turns out it was women all along, may wanna go get your degree updated and less misogynistic

"Men too manly to know how to buy groceries" is an astoundingly bizarre and embarrassing take.

Interesting take, but I would argue it’s much the exact opposite. The women are more likely to know the layout of the store because they typically are the shoppers. I and my husband always go together, and we both know the layout and what we want, so he is just as quick as I am to know what we need next and where to go, and I often let him lead the way to the exact item we usually buy, (which he does efficiently and easily) while I am the one wondering if we should try the more expensive 1/4

I literally just heard an update on this anthropological myth. At the time these discoveries were being made, women weren't allowed in the room. So when men dug up weapons buried with women hunters, they decided it was a mistake or a cooking tool. Men controlled the narrative, not the reality. It's just more excuses for men to be excused from most domestic labor and it's gross. Just stop.

You should do a real study on it instead of just offering anecdotal evidence on the internet. I grocery shop MUCH faster than my wife does. If I had to guess, I’d say I’m held up by women moving slowly more often than men. But again, this is anecdotal. Women may simply be more likely to shop.
