Web developer here. We test for Safari only for US clients, and that too only if it's supposed to have a mobile-specific layout. For everyone else in the world, which is 95% of our clients, if it runs on Chrome, we are good to go. I used to work for a Kansas-based company about a decade ago, where for a period of about a couple of years, we had to test on Internet Explorer and Safari but used Chrome and Firefox to develop. Ah, wild times.
