During service, he’s holding her and she’s playing with the tray table. I give the baby an empty cup to play with and you see both him and his wife (aisle) cooing to her while the mom is chilling in the window. I ask them if they know each other, they say no but that they love their grandkids and so this has been a treat for them. (2/3)

In December of 1974, I traveled with my five month old baby via military transport from England. Nothing cushy about that kind of travel. I was really dragging by the time I got to the gate in Pittsburgh to Wood County Airport. It was everything I could do to carry the baby, my carry on and her diaper bag. Business men barely glanced in my direction and skirted me like I had the plague. Suddenly this couple appeared out of nowhere asking if they could help me. 1/2

I flew from lax to Australia years ago. I think I was 12. During that flight there was a toddler who roamed and kept coming to sit with me. The parents were soooooo apologetic and seemed flustered that he wouldn’t stay with them, but little did they know that 12 year old me wanted a younger sibling so it was fun playing pretend. 12 hr flight was pleasant imo as I was never bored 😂

Last time I flew, there was an older man that would say "jfc" but all the words, any time a child walked past. It was a late slight, so most kids were on devices or sleeping. The one kid who was not? The little girl who lost her shit aand kicked his seat, HARD. Manifestation, sir.

My son loves to sit by the window. At about age 7, a younger girl about 3 was in front of him. She was very nervous, talking loudly, and disturbing other passengers. My son started talking to her around the side of the seat, pointing out things for her look at out the window. So sweet and it calmed her nervousness. Later during the flight, trying to get his attention, she said, “hey, Big Boy!” We still laugh at that and he’s 28.

All these helpful People I’m reading about in this thread would def take one slice of pizza and not three. Thank you, I really needed to hear from some helpers tonight.

I was flying with my three month old one time and carrying her carseat and two large bags + a diaper bag while baby wearing, a couple stopped me walking to my gate and carried all of my stuff until I got seated and realized I had forgotten the formula at security. The girlfriend sat with me while her boyfriend sprinted back to get the bottles + formula. Still grateful for them 2 years later🥲

We were traveling home from California and there was a family that had been traveling all day from overseas and the parents were visibly exhausted. Our kids were around the same ages and they shared their iPads and snacks. We took turns watching the kids while the parents got food and had a minute to themselves. We were just happy to provide a little break for them. ♥️

I grew up in NC, but my maternal grandparents both lived in CA. I remember my first solo flight, I was 7. I will never forget the lovely older woman who sat next to me and taught me about omelettes and made me feel comfortable and safe. And the wonderful crew 💕 I’m child free by choice but always do what I can for parents because I know they’re more stressed and frustrated than I could ever be!

Flying across the country with a baby, a woman next to me held her for a bit. On the flight back a big race car driver also held her. 40 years later I remember their faces & how appreciated their help was.
