My favorite book has a character refered to as "the earth bender". He's a race of fae that all have magic derived from the earth, but usually its sprouting vines and stuff. He was the first in 1000 years to be able to break bedrock and carve mountains. It has nothing to do with Avatar, and while the first time it was mentioned I had the momentary "Like Avatar?" I don't have the association anymore.
