Absolutely not. Christmas or birthday’s I call and say thank you if I’m not with the person who gave the gift. A wedding or large event makes sense because it would be difficult to call so many people

I agree! So many people don't acknowledge gifts these days, even just with a quick text for a birthday or Christmas gift. I honestly sometimes don't even know if they received the gift, but don't want to ask because then it seems like I'm fishing for a thank you! I think it's nice to send thank yous for things like bridal/baby showers and definitely for weddings!
