I dont even know what gentle parenting actually is, never read up on it. The few things I seen gives me a feeling you are not allowed to show any emotions at all and have to fake being happy and positive the whole time. And that faking part made me not interested in reading up on it. I do what I think is good and being autistic with autistic kids, that looks different than a NT family.

I am not a gentle parent. We have rules and consequences. My kids have to work for what they get. Even my 6 year old has chores. School comes first no exceptions.

correct. i don’t abüse my kids, but a little spank here and there helps them remember that every action has a consequence. and my pats are nothing compared to what the world could do to them. this shit is real, we have to raise our children to become responsible adults and morally good people.

I thought I was fairly gentle till twice in one week I had parents come up to me asking me to remove my kid from something PUBLIC he was playing with (while no one else was playing with them) so that their kid could stop crying and play with it instead 🤦🏻‍♀️😩 I’m like?? If that’s gentle parenting then that is not me

I don’t have 45 minutes to negotiate every single thing. We had to start charging people for wasted vaccinations at work because after four or five wasted visits waiting for the kid to decide they want shots we were throwing away thousands of dollars of supplies.
