The toddler is 20 months old. He was born a month early (at 35 weeks, 6 days). Technically his milestones are “adjusted” until he turns 2. He’s been on track for his actual age, so this hasn’t come up. Until today. Instead of listening to his lungs, the first thing this doctor did was ask how many words he’s saying. Mind you, this is a sick appointment. Not a well visit. When I didn’t have an *exact* number, she told me he needs to be saying 50 words and 20 “sentences” by now. 2/

I have quite a poker face but for instances like this I make sure I get my “are you for real” expression on because if a doctor I’d come to see for my child’s wheezing starts talking to me about speech delays…🤬
