Moved to Oakland from Chicago and I feel the same way!

I’m from Oakland been here my whole life. I love it, it’s home and it faces the challenges most big cities experience. Oakland is moving through one of the largest phases of gentrification where the crime is publicized at an all time high yet for all the shame thrown on the city people fail to realize that it’s not stopping business coming here. There’s more high rise apartments being built corporations buying up property yet they high light the poverty and city issues to devalue it’s worth.
