I do take your point, though, that it’s a lot to pay in one go. I used to teach piano one-to-one at a school. Lessons were £15 for half an hour and people paid for a block of five so that was £75 in one go. This seemed like a fair compromise for everybody. In your school’s case, the upfront fee is far too much, and the teacher is charging far too little.
