Only a restart would put themselves in that situation. Don’t do this unless you have minimum 5-10k emergency fund sitting in an interest accumulating account, minimum 9-12 months of living expenses covered, no car loan, no CC debt, no personal loans and a side hustle earning an additional 20% on top of your standard salary. Buy an investment property in an area you can afford that isn’t your max borrowing capacity, and rent in an area you want to live in. This is much better

I have a yearly wages of around 80-90k a year. I don’t have a mortgage. I don’t have a credit card. I own my shit box car. Never had or will ever get a student loan because in Australia none of that means anything. Never going to purchase a home. Don’t have any savings I also don’t understand how the ‘average’ Australian apparently has all of these things but still had less than $1000 in savings. I don’t know what people this info has come from but it’s completely totally and 100% wrong
