While I like Nirvana’s music and many of their progressive attitudes towards social issues, I loathe pretty much everything else about them. For me, Nirvana essentially killed rock music. Too many subsequent artists took the wrong lessons of Nirvana. Trying to disrupt the mainstream, piss on any form of genuine enthusiasm and positivity, and basically shit on anything that was relatively constructive. Cynicism and nihilism disguised as “edgy” seaped into the culture.
