Octopus. It's like I have at least eight brains, I fit in everywhere but have a hard time feeling like I belong. I'm sensitive and crazy strong all at once.

Fits me so perfectly that it's how my husband described me in a his/hrs quiz (like an Aston Martin going off road unexpectedly) before we ever knew I had ADHD or that this was an analogy for ADHD. We laughed very hard when we hear that!!

I always say "the librarian of my brain is a chimpanzee", or "my mental receptionist has been out for lunch since some time in the 80s"

I compare it to feeling like my brain is a balloon on a string floating above my head. It’s there, it works, but sometimes it lags behind, it doesn’t always move in the direction I want or expect it to, and it can be sent into chaos mode by an unexpected gust of wind.

I feel like I have this mode but not all the time. I was chatting to someone today (also has ADHD) and we talked about feeling like there is a wall at times but it’s like you’re the wall and you know you’re the wall in the way but you can’t do anything about it

I’m more of a rusty bike that’s hard to get going but once I’m going, I have a hard time stopping because the brakes are dodgy

I relate to the one that describes a computer screen with multiple tabs open…. I can’t find the document I was just working on and “OMG WHERE TF IS THAT MUSIC COMING FROM?!?!” kinda brain 😭🥺

I was diagnosed with inattentive, but no racing thoughts. Just a radio station with every song I've ever heard, including jingles, and the rare commercial breaks happen when I'm stressed out and telling myself I need to get up and do this or that but then go right back to the music and not physically doing what I need to do until the very last minute and feeling like a failure when it isn't up to my standards which makes me wanna lay around and do nothing instead of.. ooh another song.
