Does anyone have a vet that they feel TRULY cares about their dog? Like REALLY cares and REALLY tries to figure out what’s best without any financial agenda?

There's plenty of vets who do it for the love of animals and want to help the patient as much as possible, but if a patient is sick and requires a lot of diagnostics and testing...it costs money.

Look for a fear free vet if you want someone who cares, and if you bring up cost concerns they will keep that in mind. Vets usually give “gold standard care” which is the best of the best, all the extra stuff. But there are some things that can be excluded making the price go down. The vet that I work at, 2/3 of the doctors truly care and will not do unnecessary testing. The other doctor isn’t as caring, but will not do unnecessary testing, and all three are transparent about prices.

our vet definitely cares about what’s best for our dogs!! they’re a small independent vets so not affiliated with any brands etc, meaning they don’t push stuff on you, they’ll also give you the prescription so you can get the meds cheaper

Yes. Absolutely. In fact I’ve never had a vet that had a financial agenda.

Yes! I have had vets who have fallen in love with my dog and treat her like their own. They call to check up and they have saved her life more than once!

I see some themes in the replies. I DO have pet insurance. I will pay for whatever is necessary for my dogson. I think I should clarify that I HAVE worked with veterinarians who care, but then they leave the clinic they were at. Probably because of the corps running them. I guess I’m more frustrated with the actual system of it all. The pet healthcare system is frustrating. I had a terrible experience w my soul dog when he passed, & I am trying to make the best decisions for my new adopted one.
