While walking my dogs this morning, I found a badly injured coyote less than a year old, apparently run over by a car. It was laying there on the road helplessly, still breathing, with both back legs and hips likely broken. After unsuccessfully trying to contact local wildlife rescue, I called nearby animal shelters & arranged for euthanasia at my expense. Only one shelter accepted, so I brought it in an hour ago. It's now in a better place, no longer in pain, though it still breaks my heart 💔
