When a serial killer with a past of abuse kills 20 innocent women in his basement, no one suggests it’s the logical outcome of his abuse and there should be no repercussions. We can empathize, yes. But we still know it’s clearly unacceptable behavior in a society. And yet, I keep seeing “intellectuals” suggest that Oct 7, the slaughter of hundreds of innocent people, is somehow the next logical step in acknowledging Palestinian trauma. What kind of society can possibly exist using this logic?
