If you’re finding yourself criticizing @chappellroan , try to remember that about 30 years ago there was another artist who also just wanted to make music and perform without the insane amount of obsessive pressure and criticism that his fans and the media were putting on him.

The parasocial relationships and weird entitlement people have around celebrities has just gotten worse as people have to promote themselves through social media. People need to be more respectful and less creepy. Also, Jeanette McCurdy’s book “I’m Glad My Mom Died” is a huge eye-opener about this. Just because it seems like someone sought fame, doesn’t mean someone else was behind it. No one wants strangers at their house.
